It happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of North Broad Street and West Pike Street in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.
Police are trying to figure out why the man, who has not yet been indentified, jumped in front of a car with an elderly couple inside.
The vehicle stopped nearby, and police say no charges will be filed against the driver.
The victim suffered multiple injuries, police said.
