Waters receding along Rancocas Creek

PEMBERTON, N.J. - March 16, 2010 Residents in along the Racocas Creek in Burlington County are breathing a sigh of relief Tuesday night, especially Bill Rhodes who lives along Mill Creek Road. The creek waters had surrounded his low lying home and the only way in and out was by wading in the knee high water or by boat.

But the creek is now receding. Rhodes' Ford Bronco took on some water but his household belongings were spared.

A sentiment shared by neighbor Kate Marklin. She's spent the last few days hauling goods up to the attic and placing furniture on cinder blocks.

Up the creek in Pemberton, Joe Holton had to wear trash bags as waders. Holton and others, say flooding is part of life along the creek. They've weathered this storm and there will be others in the future.
