SWAT teams stormed the 2900 block of Kip Street shortly after midnight, in search of the gunman who shot and killed the man.
Police then went door to door in their search.
The gunman managed to make a run for it and remains on the loose.
The murder victim was in his 20s.
Neighbors say they heard seven shots fired at the time of the murder.
Investigators have not indicated if they have uncovered a motive.
