Flames erupted early Saturday morning inside their rowhome along the 300 block of West Hansberry Street in Germantown.
The mother and her children did not suffer any injuries.
Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames shooting from a second floor bedroom. They brought the blaze under control within a half hour.
The Red Cross is helping provide aid to the displaced family.
Investigators have not determined what sparked the fire.
