The man is only described as wearing a burgundy and white striped shirt and as being armed with an AK47 assault rifle wrapped in a towel.
Police say the man began to fire randomly around 3:00 a.m. in the city's West Oak Lane section sparking dozens of calls to 911.
The gunman began firing near the intersection of 19th Street and 72nd Avenue; he then proceeded down the street and fired into a window of a home at while the residents there slept.
Police continue to search for the gunman responsible.
