Police had to close a busy New Jersey highway after a bear climbed a tree.

The bruin had wandered through North Brunswick most of the day before it decided to climb the tree during rush hour along Route 1 Monday.

Police closed that section of highway while firefighters brought a ladder to help Fish and Wildlife officials tranquilize the 130-pound bear.

The bear fell out of the tree into a net and was removed from the scene.
