Seaford woman charged in stabbing

SEAFORD, Del. - June 15, 2010

Lt. Richard Jamison says police were called to the 200 block of Arch Street on Sunday, where they found a 22-year-old man with two stab wounds to his upper torso. Jamison says the man told police he was in a relationship with Erika Rodriquez-Mercado and she stabbed him during an argument.

Police say they found Rodriquez-Mercado of Seaford in a neighboring yard and charged her with first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon and other offenses. She was being held at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution.

The victim was treated and released from a hospital.
