Stephen P. Sassi, of West Chester, Pa., was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court in Wilmington after admitting to a wire fraud charge in February. Prosecutors say the 46-year-old wrote checks to himself from the accounts of Mid-Atlantic Pain Institute and Spine Care of Delaware and would then cover it up by making false bookkeeping entries.
Sassi was also ordered to repay the nearly $368,000 he still owes one of the clients. An attorney for Sassi says the sentence will likely be appealed.
