Trenton police spokesman Det. Sergeant Pedro Medina says the accident happened Monday afternoon at Roberto Clemente Park pool. Lifeguards were on duty at the time.
Medina says the boy was taken to Capital Health Systems at Mercer Campus for initial treatment, and was then transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
However, Medina said the child died on Thursday afternoon.
