Family members have identified the victim as 16-year-old Saideen Lewis.
Police say, Lewis was dropped off by a family friend around 1:30 Sunday morning when a group of teens began to chase him for an unknown reason. One of the teens opened fire on Saideen along the 1400 block of South Marston Street, striking him in the head.
Lewis was pronounced dead a short time later at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Police were catch up with one of the teens involved in the shooting. The gun used in the shooting was retrieved.
Family members told Action News that Saideen wasn't involved in violence, but unfortunately, violence surrounded him.
Police continue to search for the other teens involved.
