Thirty-four-year-old Kenneth Strausser Jr. of Stroudsburg was arrested Monday at a Scranton hospital and transported to Monroe County jail. He was arraigned there on charges of homicide by vehicle, fleeing and eluding police, accidents involving death or personal injury, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest.
Authorities say police pursued Strausser's car on Interstate 380 to Tobyhanna on Friday and a Lehigh Township officer later found the vehicle in flames after it crashed into a tree. Police say 26-year-old Allison Strausser was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Strausser remains behind bars in lieu of $100,000 bail; it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
