Former Kenton County Jailer Jim Knauf tells The Kentucky Enquirer he's come across a Covington Police badge from the early 1900s.
Not only is the manufacturer still around, the company still has the hand-cut dies used to stamp it.
The badge features Covington's seal.
Engraved on the back is an excerpt of the department's mission statement.
The new-old badges will replace Covington's generic police shield.
