Orwigsburg police Officer William Bradley was found dead inside the station Sunday afternoon.
State police Cpl. Rahn Richards says Bradley appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. An autopsy will be scheduled.
Richards says Orwigsburg police Chief Stanley Brozana discovered the 47-year-old officer's body Sunday afternoon. The chief told The Pottsville Republican & Herald Bradley was one of the borough's four full-time patrolmen.
Orwigsburg is about 70 miles northwest of Philadelphia in Schyulkill County.
State police continue to investigate.
