Winter storm warning issued for eastern Pa. areas

Forecasters have issued a winter storm warning for parts of eastern Pennsylvania and an advisory for other areas of the commonwealth expected to get snow followed by freezing rain Monday night into Tuesday that could make travel hazardous.

The National Weather Service says Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties are expected to receive 3 to 6 inches of snow followed by sleet and freezing rain. Officials predicted that travel "will be slow and difficult Tuesday morning."

A weather advisory was issued for southeastern Pennsylvania due to an anticipated 1 to 3 inches of snow followed by sleet and freezing rain and then just rain.
