Firefighters were called at 1:06 a.m. Monday for the report of smoke inside a residence at the Waynesborough Village Condominium Complex, located at Bloomingdale and West Wayne Avenue.
Once inside the residence, crews located a deceased elderly male on the first floor of the town house.
The cause of the death in under investigation. The victim's identity has not been released.
The fire was extinguished and contained to one unit. Fire investigators have not yet announced what may have sparked the blaze.
