Body found in Schuylkill River that of NJ woman

PHILADELPHIA - April 21, 2011

The identity of /*Nadirah Ruffin*/ of Egg Harbor Township, 19, was confirmed through dental records. Medical examiners determined that Ruffin died of a gunshot wound, and the case has been classified a homicide, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel said in a statement.

Philadelphia police said Ruffin's body was spotted by a bicyclist in Fairmount Park on Tuesday. Police said she had duct tape around her head and body and a handcuff attached to her left ankle.

Ruffin, the mother of a 4-year-old son, had been missing since March 26. Authorities said that's when four masked men burst into a friend's home in Atlantic City, bound everyone with duct tape, robbed the women and took Ruffin at gunpoint.

The FBI has offered a reward of up to $20,000 for information in the case.

Housel says his office is taking over the investigation, with help from the FBI and Atlantic City and Philadelphia police.
