Special Easter parade has seniors seeing double

April 21, 2011

It was a special day in Sellersville, Bucks County for the miniature look-alikes! They were roaming the halls of the Rockhill Mennonite Community where many residents thought they were seeing double.

It is a special moment the seniors look forward to every year, when the Bucks Mont Mothers of Multiples bring by their little ones to share a little bit of Easter with them.

"It's really special to me because my grandma used to be in a home. I get a little choked up, so that's why I like to come every year to give them a smile because they give us a smile," said Shannon Crawley.

It's an important lesson of giving back, and they did so quite diligently.

"I

just like this because we both get the joy of giving and making them happy," said 9 year old Zackary Hohman.

For the residents and for the people who come and visit during the day, events like the multiples' parade brings them hope.

"We wait for them to come down, and visit us, because we know they're going to be happy doing it," said Anne Salvatore.

It instantly brings back fond memories for people like Anne Salvatore, and mother of 8 children, Charlotte Richards.

"I had three girls, now they're grown," said Anne.

"I think it's just wonderful, and I think it's good for the kids because they don't think it's some horrible place to go to see," said Charlotte Richards.

The tradition that brings two generations together lives on.
