The accident occurred just after noon at Bartram and Island avenues.
Medics transported two males, ages 25 and 35, to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
The 25-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
Two other victims, a 40-year-old male and a 43-year-old female, were transported to Hahnemann Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released details on what led to the chase.
