Chief Russ Marino of the Woolwich Township Police Department tells Action News authorities have recovered the teen's body.
The teen has been identified as 16-year-old Akeem Cody.
His body was recovered just after 12:30 p.m., according to Marino.
Crews were called just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday to the scene along the Raccoon Creek near West Broad Street and Locke Avenue.
Officials say a 16-year-old was swimming in the creek with friends when he went under and did not resurface.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy tomorrow morning to determine the cause of death.
