Officials probe cause of Pa. recycling plant fire

NAZARETH, Pa. - August 3, 2011

No one was hurt in the blaze, which broke out early Tuesday at the Nicos Polymers Group plant in Plainfield Township, about 55 miles north of Philadelphia. A state police fire marshal is investigating. The Pocono Record of Stroudsburg reports that, at some point, propane tanks that power the plant's forklifts started exploding.

The fire sent up huge plumes of smoke that could be seen for miles.

The Express-Times of Easton reports the fire was officially declared out around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and operations wrapped up around 8 a.m.
