Plane intercepted in airspace near Camp David
WASHINGTON - September 2, 2011
The North American Aerospace Defense Command says the Piper
plane was out of radio communication when it was intercepted by an
F-15E fighter at about 4:45 p.m. It was diverted to the airport in
Martinsburg.
President Barack Obama was at Camp David at the time. He had
traveled there by motorcade after switching from his Marine One
helicopter because of bad weather.
The White House said the pilot of the small plane would be
interviewed.
