The accident happened just before midnight Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-495, just south the Dupont Highway.
Police say the driver lost control, sending the vehicle into the right lanes, hitting the guardrail and overturning.
The driver was trapped and had to be rescued.
There were reports of a passenger who may have been ejected in the crash. There is no word on if a second person was ever found.
The highway was closed for about one hour while crews cleared the scene and conducted their search for the passenger.
