Fire destroys Lower Providence home

LOWER PROVIDENCE, Pa. - January 9, 2012

Fire crews were called around 7:20 p.m. to the 2000 block of Windsor Drive.

Officials say the family and their pets were able to escape the home unharmed.

The 2-alarm blaze destroyed the home and even damaged the family's car that was parked in the driveway.

The fire marshal said that the cause is under investigation, but the initial call was that it was a dryer fire.

The Red Cross of Southeastern PA is helping the family of two.

In addition to offering food, clothing, and shelter, The Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania will be helping with the family's three dogs.
