Stop changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles!
Here's the deal: The majority of drivers are still doing that, but with modern day vehicles, it's absolutely unnecessary and will not help your car at all.
And in fact, changing the oil more than you need to isn't good for the environment.
So California has launched a new website checkyournumber.org. But you don't have to live in California to use it.
We can all use it to easily look up when our car manufacturers suggest we get oil changes.
These days, almost all of us can drive 5,000 miles or more in between oil changes. And you can drive some vehicles, like BMWs, 15,000 miles or more before changing the oil.
