Computer built for senior citizens

CHALFONT, Pa. - January 24, 2012

Venture 3 Systems presents the Telikin - a touch screen, all-in-one computer, that combines email, photo-sharing and lots of other features into an extra easy-to use, 19-inch computer.

"I check it every day and I get all the sales on line," Shirley Finkbeiner said.

Shirley is blind in one eye. She says the Telekin's large print is a blessing. She also has a son whose a missionary in Japan with whom she now knows how to videochat.

The man who developed it initially had his mother in mind.

"It started with putting a computer together for my mom who's 84, macular degeneration," CEO of Venture 3 Systems Fred Allegrezz said.

He says there are actually three basics that make it so user friendly for seniors: large print, touch screen, and menu buttons do not go away. He recognized how many other seniors have difficulty with regular computers.

"I was terribly afraid of computers until I got the Telekin. Within an hour, I was able to email everyone and especially because I have arthritis in my hands, I could use the up and down with my finger," Ann Tessoni said.

Ann also enjoys a little computer gambling.

"I love to play blackjack," Ann said with a laugh.

Venture 3 Systems also has a program where they give away computers to the needy

One computer costs $600.
