Consignment sale in Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Jan. 27, 2012

Those are just a few of the deals on pre-owned and gently used items at the My Closet Swap consignment sale that starts later this morning in Doylestown.

The sale grew out of the Kids Kloset Swap, a seasonal consignment sale run by Bucks County sisters Donna Soura and Denise Ardis.

Soura explains, "Our consigners have been with us for a really long time, and their kids are starting to grow up and they're saying, 'Hey, I have great stuff too, in my closets.' So, it sort of just naturally grew from there."

This sale starts at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the American Legion Hall at 315 North Street in Doylestown . On Sunday, most of what's left will be 50% off. Any items that remain after the sale will be donated to charity.

On half-price day, you could get Liz Claiborne slingback dress shoes or rainboots for as little as $5.

And that's not the only great pre-owned clothing sale this weekend. On Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, the Germantown Jewish Center at 400 West Ellet Street is holding its Women's Clothing Giveaway. Suggested donation is $20 at the door, with proceeds going to Women for Women International, an organization that helps female survivors of war rebuild their lives.

The giveaway runs from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Once you pay admission, you can "shop" for whatever you want.
