Weinberg explains, "Autoslash is a website that helps users save money on car rentals. What makes us unique is that we automatically apply coupons and disount codes to lower your rate after booking."
When you book through AutoSlash, the price you see on the screen is the most you'll pay. Many users end up paying about 25% less by the time they get to the rental calendar.
And the site does the work for you, checking for better deals and coupons and stacking them together every day.
Weinberg says, "We basically run (your reservation) through our computer systems and figure out which are the optimal discount codes to get you the best possible rate. Then we'll apply those codes to automatically lower your rate after booking."
Weinberg suggests going on the site as soon as you know your travel dates and destination.
And just because you're saving money, that doesn't mean you'll end up with a car from a no-name rental company.
"The discounters, companies like Dollar, Thrifty, Advantage, they're going to be more aggressive with rates than somebody like a Hertz," Weinberg says. "But the flip-side to that is that there are often more discount codes that can be applied to a company like Hertz."
Weinberg adds that you might be able to find the same deals as AutoSlash on your own, but wonders why you would bother when the site can do it for you.
"There's nothing that we're doing as Autoslash that a consumer couldn't do on their own," he says. But the issue is, do you really want to spend your hard-earned time searching for discount codes all the time? Checking your rates every single day? We're a free service, let us do it for you."
