Burglar breaks into store near Jewelers' Row

CENTER CITY - April 22, 2012

At around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Philadelphia police were called to George's Golden Scale store on the unit block of South 8th Street.

Once there, they noticed the metal gate used for security when the store is closed was pushed up a couple of feet.

Police say the burglar smashed the front window of the store and stole numerous watches and other items.

The suspect fled on foot.

There is no information about the amount of items that were stole.

Authorities say the suspect was cut by the glass in the process of the burglary.
