A memo from the airport administration to employers says the Transportation Security Administration is allowing airport and airline workers to receive security passes once they've been fingerprinted. But they don't have to wait for the results of a so-called security threat assessment.
Atlanta station WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/IqqBhd) first reported the April 20 memo from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, the world's busiest passenger airport.
The memo did not say how long delays were running on security checks. It says that airport workers will have to have their clearance completed "at some point" and that security passes will be withdrawn immediately if a check eventually comes back negative.
