Action News took a sneak peak of the preparations on Friday afternoon.
A few visitors managed to walk through the site without sampling the wide array of foods provided by 60 different vendors.
Debbie Dacunzo started cooking the first of the 2,200 pounds of turkey legs she expects to sell over the next ten days.
She'll also sell barbecue sandwiches and a specialty she calls "a hot mess."
"Potatoes, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese and a giant thing of brisket on top," said Dacunzo.
The owners of one booth expect to use about 40 gallons of oil each day to create delicacies like fried peanut-butter and jelly, fried Reese's cups, fried pickles and more.
Standing over grills and fryers in the August heat can be a challenge, but the vendors say they enjoy it.
"Hopefully, we'll be very busy making lots and lots of food, taking orders with smiles and enjoying the wonderful music and all the people," said Marina Engel of Bill's Poultry.
Action News will have a booth on Banana Island where you can meet members of our team and pick up free swag. There will also be contests on Twitter and Facebook to win tickets to some of the concerts.
Of course, the biggest draw is the music. There will be more than 500 performances on 15 different stages and many of them free.
While most of the shows will be outside, two new indoor venues or platzes, have been added this year by the Steels Stacks on the South Side of Bethlehem.
"They're indoors, they're air conditioned with stadium seating and they're really pleasant," said Jeff Parks, Artsquest President.
Numbers were down at last year's Musikfest due to severe weather, but if the weather cooperates, organizers are hoping this year will be a record-setter.
