The accident happened around 7:15 a.m., immediately shutting down the westbound on and off ramps near the Valley Forge Interchange.

The truck overturned onto a cement barrier. The cab then became wedged against the barrier while the trailer fell to the other side.

The truck driver, 59-year-old Stephen Andriso, was trapped inside the cab for two hours. Once he was freed, he was flown by Life Flight helicopter to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He is listed in good condition.

The ramp was closed for a total of approximately four hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.

Traffic has since reopened to the ramp.
