Knife-wielding man robs South Philadelphia clerk, customer

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - March 26, 2013

Authorities say the suspect entered Good & Plenty Market on the 1200 block of Snyder Avenue at 10:44 a.m. on March 21st.

He walked behind the counter where an employee was standing and began robbing the store.

During the robbery, police say, a struggle ensued between the two.

The suspect then cut the employee's neck with a knife and took items from his pockets.

During the robbery, a customer entered the store.

The suspect approached the customer and demanded her wallet and cell phone. The customer handed over the items.

The suspect fled the store and was last seen running west on McKean Street towards Broad Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7, light facial hair, dark complexion. He was wearing a black jacket, royal blue shirt, black sneakers with a white color sole.
