It was around 6:30 a.m. Saturday when the truck was exiting I-495 southbound to Route 13. The driver lost control, causing the rig to overturned onto its side.
The impact caused the diesel saddle tanks to rupture and leak diesel fuel.
Medics transported the driver to Christiana Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say drivers should expect the exit ramp to be closed for most of the morning as crews work to off load the truck and upright the trailer.
