It was shortly before noon Thursday that authorities received a call about one person being shot on hospital property.
Sources tell Action News that a man walked into the Emergency Room and shot himself.
Doctors were able to revive the man after the shooting. He was then taken to the Cooper University Hospital's trauma center, where he died later Thursday.
No other injuries were reported. Police have not released the gunman's identity, except to say that he is a 26-year-old Gloucester County man.
Inspira Hospital was secured and there were no evacuations or lockdowns.
Officials say the gun used in the incident has been recovered.
