State police in Lancaster County are looking for thieves stealing steel.

Police say someone took more than 7,000 pounds of steel from the DS Machine Shop in Leacock Township during the past week. The 216 sheets were valued at more than $16,000.

Trooper Blain Hertzog says new and used copper is frequently reported stolen, but this was new product stored outside a business, but the metal had not been locked up.

Hertzog says the price for such products is high.
