Delaware State Police have arrested a registered sex offender who allegedly raped three children who visited him at his Delmar home. Police say Michael Hammond is charged with rape and other sex offenses for assaulting three children between the ages of three and 10.

The children visited Hammond in recent weeks. That's when police say the sexual assaults happened.

Hammond was convicted in 2007 on Maryland charges for a third-degree sex offense.

He's being held at Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown.
