Domenic Cappella, who held things together as acting mayor last fall while Atlantic City's mayor went missing for two weeks, wants the job for real now. Cappella, the city's assistant business administrator, announced his candidacy Wednesday to seek the Democratic nomination for mayor.

He was recently demoted from the position of business administrator by Mayor Scott Evans, who also is running, along with former Mayor Lorenzo Langford.

Cappella has served under both men, and openly feuded with both.

"I'm gonna make this fun," he told The Press of Atlantic City.

"I'm gonna make these guys work."
