A lot of times, colors that you're attracted to you will be able to find in your home. So grab a tablecloth or a flat sheet and tack it up on the wall.
Try to get it so it is lined up against a door or window casing so that your can see the color next to your trim work.
The great thing about this is if you love the color take the sheet with you to the store and have them color match it!
Another way to test a color without committing to actually painting is to buy the sample sizes of paint and paint them on poster board.
Then you can hang the large scale samples on the wall and see how you like the paint colors.
Using these large scale samples is going to give you a real feeling for how a color will look in a room so you don't need to paint over a color you don't like! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
