The suspect was taken to Cooper University Hospital. There's no word on his condition.
The Gloucester County prosecutor's officer, and the state attorney general's office will investigate the shooting.

Authorities say the officer was responding to a call that two suspicious men were knocking on the doors of nearby homes. The officer approached the two men and that's when shots were fired.
