A good samaritan murdered in Lawncrest

CENTER CITY - April 12, 2008 The 63-year-old victim and a roommate argued over how to properly clean a mug. When it was over, she was dead from multiple stab wounds.

Philadelphia Police say 20-year-old Jerry Jean stabbed Jocelyn Desay multiple times in the neck.

After killing Desay, police say Jean hid the body in a bedroom.

Yesterday, Desay's son searched the home on the 5900 block of Hasbrook and found the body.

Jean had only been living in the home for a couple of weeks.

His mother had asked Desay if she would help house the young man.

She complied.

Relatives say she was a kind and compassionate woman

Police say Jean continued to live in the home as Desay's body began to decompose in the bedroom.

Police took him in for questioning once the body was found and they say he confessed to the murder.
