Ocean Co. brush fire ruled arson

Arson investigators say a forest fire that burned about 150 acres in Ocean County over the weekend was deliberately set. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office determined Monday that Saturday's blaze, which broke out in Barnegat, was intentionally set. No other details were provided.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was brought under control within a few hours.

It burned near the site of a much larger forest fire last May that charred 17,000 acres. That fire was touched off accidentally when a National Guard jet dropped a flare into the Pinelands during a training run on a hot, dry day.
