American Eagle Outfitters President Stepping Down

American Eagle Outfitters president and chief merchandising officer Susan McGalla is be stepping down when her contract expires Jan. 31. The Pittsburgh-based clothing retailer announced Thursday that McGalla informed the company she would not renew her contract.

McGalla has agreed to devote her remaining time with the company to building its children's apparel brand, and another brand which targets 28- to-40-year-old men and women.

Chief Executive Jim O'Donnell will assume McGalla's responsibilities as president. A search for chief merchandising officer will be held.
