The military is investigating the death of a Marine who was assigned to a Virginia-based port security unit that is part of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.

The Marine Corps said Wednesday that 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Travis M. Stottlemyer of Hatfield, Pa., died Sunday in a non-hostile incident in Manama, Bahrain.

Stottlemyer was a member of the 3rd Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team Company, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, which is based in Norfolk, Va.

A Camp Lejeune spokesman said Stottlemyer joined the Marines in October 2006.
