Philly Fringe preview

It is a run of more than one hundred shows in Philadelphia from August 29th through September 13th.

The festival has grown well beyond its original Old City neighborhood, now reaching into Center City, University City, North and South Philadelphia and more.

Plus there are shows this year at the Kimmel Center and the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, as well as more typical locations like streetcorners and a car in a garage.

It's art on the cutting edge, some by veteran performers and some by completely inexperienced performers.

Some shows are free while others require tickets.

There's also the Festival Bar at 5th and Fairmount, where performers gather and are glad to talk about their work.
