Director Kevin Smith's new R-rated comedy is called "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."
But many newspapers and TV stations are refusing to accept ads for the film.
The distributor reports the city of Philadelphia is even turning thumbs-down on "Zack and Miri" posters at bus stops.
One city official says the word "porno" won't appear on their bus shelters.
The film company is considering alternative ads for "Zack and Miri" that drop the word "porno" from the title.
It opens at the end of the month.
