Delaware State Police have identified a Wilmington woman who was killed near New Castle when she stepped in front of a moving sport utility vehicle. Police say 48-year-old Joanna Dworek died about 2 a.m. Sunday after the accident on U.S. Route 13 near School Lane.

Police say Dworek had been drinking before stepping front of the SUV driven by a 26-year-old Newark man. The driver was not injured, and police say he won't face charges.
