Ex-owners want Tropicana back

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - October 23, 2008 That's the message from Tropicana Entertainment LLC, which filed a request Thursday with New Jersey casino regulators to regain control of the Atlantic City casino.

The state stripped the former owners of their casino license last December, citing problems with cleanliness, service and compliance with state gambling regulations.

But the company says it has new management, and its owner, William Yung, has signed away his right to control it.

The state is trying to sell the Tropicana to Baltimore-based Cordish Company in a bankruptcy court auction.
