2 dozen poodles rescued from NYC home

NEW YORK (AP) - October 23, 2008 The dogs, ranging in age from 2 months to 6 years, are relatively healthy, but are not well socialized to strangers and new environments.

The ASPCA said Thursday that residents of the house had a breeding business. Sales became slow, resulting in too many poodles.

A social worker involved with the family notified the ASPCA. The director of the agency's Manhattan adoption center says the dogs will receive medical treatment and behavioral training before they're put up for adoption.
