Flames broke out in the warehouse along the 3700 block of M street, near Erie Avenue.
Action News has learned the warehouse used to be home to a metal fabricating business.
The warehouse has been abandoned for two years.
Firefighters needed almost two hours to contain the fire, and keep it from spreading to nearby rowhomes.
The firefighter injured was treated for cuts.
