SLIDES & VIDEO: Chimp cares for tigers

MIAMI, FL - November 12, 2008 - A pair of male tiger cubs moved from their home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the warmer climate of Miami, Florida's "Jungle Island."

There, they found an adoptive parent.

Anjana the chimpanzee has been caring for the cubs since they arrived.

When Anjana finishes her day job performing for visitors, she goes home to take care of the cubs.

Caretakers say it's not the first time she's done this. She's also befriended lions and leopards as well.

The cubs, Mitra and Shiva, and Anjana all go home in the evening with trainer China York. She says all three creatures sleep and play together, something they'll continue until the tigers grow too large and become too powerful to play with the chimpanzee without harming her.
